In thirty-five years, I have never met anyone who was broken. I have met people who had learned something, and whom nobody had ever shown how to unlearn it.
That is why you will not find the word illness here, nor the idea that you should carry a label for the rest of your life. Those words carry drama and incurability, and neither one helps you change anything.
I talk about compulsive behaviour and conditioning. That is not a matter of vocabulary: it decides whether we work on your worth as a person, or on a learning mechanism. I work on the mechanism.
Not deciding for you. Putting you back in a position to decide — which is not at all the same thing.
Acting on what the behaviour solves, not only on the behaviour. Otherwise it comes back, or another one takes its place.
The tools you learn are yours. The goal is not for you to need me for long.
Many people do not dare ask for help because they are afraid of being told to stop everything, right away, forever. So I say it from the start: there are three options, and you are the one who chooses.
The status quo. Change nothing. That is an option, and it has a cost we look at together, honestly.
Moderation. Change without stopping. For some people, that is the right choice.
Freedom. Take back the controls entirely.
The decision is made calmly, once you have observed how you actually work. Never in a rush, never under pressure.
Two programs, and they come in that order. “Regain the Power of Choice” is the way in: eight weeks to get out of a compulsive behaviour. “Is There a Pilot in the Plane?” comes next: twelve pillars to decide what to do with the freedom you got back.
Not sure which one is for you? That is exactly what we sort out in thirty minutes on the phone.
