Patrice Beaudoin, human potential coach

My path

Thirty-five years beside people who start over

I have been working with people for more than thirty-five years, including more than twenty in direct practice. Therapist, coach, facilitator, speaker — and above all, someone who has spent his life in the same room as people trying to change.

I ran a residential centre for more than four years, then owned an outpatient centre for more than seven. That is where I saw something I could not ignore: people left, and many came back. Not because they lacked willpower — I have met thousands of them, and I have never seen anyone lack willpower. Because we were working on the effect and not on the cause.

That realization is what pushed me to develop my own way of working. Since 2018, it is all I do.

What people tell me

“I don’t know why I keep doing all this anymore.”

The people who sit down across from me usually look at the floor. Ashamed, out of answers. And they nearly all say the same thing:

“Patrice, I don’t know why I keep doing all this anymore. It doesn’t make sense, I’ve lost myself.”

Or this other sentence, which I hear every week: “I’m capable in every other part of my life. Why am I not capable here?”

I don’t find them broken. In thirty-five years, I have never met anyone who was broken. I have met people who had learned something, and whom nobody had ever shown how to unlearn it.

Why I work this way

I know what I’m talking about

I lived a compulsive behaviour myself. That is not a line of biography I add to look good: it is the reason I look down on nobody, and the reason I don’t believe for a second in any account that puts the blame on the person.

What I pass on is not theory learned from a book. It is a system I built, tested, corrected, and watched work — in others and in myself.

The belief holding all of it up is simple: every person has the power and the responsibility to change their life. The power, because the brain knows how to unlearn. The responsibility, because nobody can do it for you — me first.

Outside the programs

One-to-one work

Not everyone arrives with a compulsive behaviour to undo. Part of my practice is one-to-one sessions, on other subjects.

Individual coaching

Personal transformation, anger and emotion management, performance for athletes and managers.

Packages of 5 or 10 sessions

In person in Montreal or remotely, whichever suits you.

Couples support

Non-violent, effective communication, when what is at play is at play between two people.

Here too, it starts with the same thirty-minute call.
